What is DGU laminated glass?
Dgu laminated glass is a dgu unit with a laminated outboard. This configuration can be used in applications where the exterior is overhead glazing or in specific hurricane zones where safety glazing is required for the exterior. Combines two or more glass panes that are spaced apart and sealed with a sealant to appear as a single unit.
Nowadays, dgu laminated glass is widely used in commercial and residential building projects. Traditional uses may include laminated glass in overhead glazing, sound damping, and acoustically dgu laminated privacy glass. Increasingly, laminated dgu glass is required in hurricane, impact, and blast resistance applications by many specifications and building codes.
How to produce 28mm Low-E coated Dgu laminated glass？
For higher performance, sometimes we will embed the Low-E coating next to the interlayer, which has the potential to enhance acoustical performance and ultraviolet light protection. The laminated component is designed to remain integral in the opening should glass damage occur.
Dgu laminated glass units are made up of multiple pieces of glass. Each piece of glass consists of two surfaces. Each of these surfaces is numbered starting with the outside glass （#1 surface） and finishing with the inside glass surface.

When used in a dgu unit, when adjacent to a dry, desiccated, hermetically sealed, airspace will increase the SHGC and interior surface temperature of the laminate by reflecting the sun’s energy back into the interlayer, and superior solar performance can be achieved.
After selecting the coated surface and performing the laminated treatment, a 12A hollow aluminum spacer bar is bent into the desired shape. 5+5mm Laminated unit and another 6mm glass panel are separated with a 12A spacer. Primary sealant is applied to the sides of the spacer bar and pressed with an automatic presser. The Dgu unit is ready.
Dgu glass vs laminated glass, what are the benefits of dgu unit?
1, Energy Conservation: Dgu unit contains hermetically sealed dry air space between the sheets of glass, preventing direct contact with sunlight. With the use of air-conditioners, the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the building is very less. Due to convection, air circulates inside and acts as a barrier, preventing outside heat from coming inside and the cool air inside from escaping.
2, Transparency: Dgu unit help in reducing the incidence of condensation on the warm air side and bring about transparency. They can be used in larger glazed areas without increasing energy consumption while ensuring transparency.
3, Acoustic Insulation: The monolithic glass resonates when high-frequency sound comes in because it cannot withstand the high frequency. Dgu unit is highly effective in reducing sound transmission. The air inside the Dgu unit will prevent the resonance from passing through.
4, Reduced Infiltration: In cold climates, the aim is to reduce infiltration of the cold, maintain internal heated temperatures, and reduce the cost of heating. Dgu unit help in achieving these objectives.
5, Reduced Condensation: Water from condensation and the resultant water run-off can damage window sills and frames, and seep into walls and adjoining areas. Window surfaces being colder than other surfaces in the building are more prone to condensation buildup. A Dgu unit reduces the likelihood of condensation by providing a thermal barrier between the inside and the outside.
